A Race.

I raced with a plane today
An aeroplane
I watched as the smoke of clouds
Merged into one
Like a watercolor painting
Whirl winding grays
Dust and dirt
Off of the leaves
And swirling trees
Swinging
Swaying
I raced past them
At speeds untamed
And wires that were held back
Rooted to their ground of past
Birds, they tried too
Luck tied in flocks
Scattered hopes,
I left them behind
And though my competitor
Glided past me long back
I was happy to have tried
And tested my limits
Outdone myself
Finally found a new place to start in.
