We all wear masks.

We all wear masks
And it feels safe
To hide behind
Something familiar
Something comfortable.
We’re wearing masks
Suffocating our pores
To breathe, exfoliating
Ourselves from us
Fighting to reveal
Our identities.
We’re scared
Of the unknown
But how would we know
Without stepping into
Reality, virtuality taking over
Most of our beliefs
Believe, that it isn’t so bad
Scary, as it so seems
We’re happily deceiving
Deceived, into acknowledging
Something that wasn’t true
In the first place.
We all wear masks
And it feels safe to be untrue.

    • I think most people are happy to wear a skin of familiarity and a disguise and it comforts most to be someone they are not. Also, because a lot of people fear people who can think for themselves and this makes them uncomfortable. This is what is my opinion ๐Ÿ™‚
